Man wearing face mask mistaken for Ben&Ben vocalist, goes viral on social media

  • Man mistaken for a member of Ben&Ben band
  • Group of people in a mall ask for a photo with him thinking that he was the vocalist of the band
  • He was suspected because of his mask, long and wavy hair with similar body structure

Miguel Criador, a netizen in Davao, uploaded some photos of himself where people asked to take a photo with him thinking that he was a member of the band Ben&Ben who sang “Kathang Isip.”

Ben&Ben celebrated with the Davaoeños the Kadayawan Festival 2019 on August 17 for the Davao leg of the Limasawa Street Tour.

While Criador was going home after the show, a group of people suddenly approached him to ask him for a photo opp even after he said he was not a member of the band.

In an interview with the Dailypedia via messenger, Criador said that he was really shocked because what happened was really unexpected. Though he repeatedly said that he was not the guy from Ben&Ben, netizens still insisted on taking pictures with him so he decided to just go with the flow.

“di sila nakikinig, paulit ulit lang nila sinasabi ‘sige na po’ ‘isang pic lang sir’ ganon hahaha kaya nakisabay nalang ako,” he said.

Netizen must have mistaken him because of his long and wavy hair and similar build as the Ben&Ben vocalist. With the mask that he was wearing, netizen believed that he was not telling the truth and just wanted to hide his identity.

Criador was wearing a mask since he had a fever and a cough. He thought of removing the mask but the crowd was getting bigger so he started to panic. He just decided to leave the place. As he said in the interview, he was not good with crowds which made him a bit anxious.

His post went viral as it was even reposted by Ben&Ben’s Facebook page which also made them happy.

His post garnered more than 12 thousand shares and 2 thousand reactions on Facebook.
