Students kick-starts fundraising campaign for teacher who didn’t receive salary for 2 months

  • Students from Brazil raised money for their temporary teacher, who was not compensated by the school for 2 months
  • Despite repeatedly collecting for his salary, the Brazilian teacher was denied income for not being on the payroll, school administration insists
  • Students raised $359 for their teacher, a sum they claim not worthy enough for the efforts of Paiva

But the idiom was twisted on a more positive light when students of teacher Bruno Rafael Paiva raised funds for him as he did not receive his salary for two months.

Paiva was hired by a school in Brazil as a substitute for a pregnant teacher and was promised a decent salary. At the end of his teaching stint, however, the school refused to pay him for the services he had rendered.

The administration argued that he was not on the payroll and was not entitled to the salary they had previously promised. Paiva found the school staff disobliging despite his repeated efforts to collect his salary. The school administration flat out refused to pay.

When his students learned of this, they decided to surprise him by raising funds so that he could have some money in the interim. In the end, the class was able to raise $359.

Paiva was certainly surprised over the earnest and sweet gesture of his students. They even told him they believed he greatly deserved more for what he had done for them compared to the humble sum they have raised for him.
