Pharmacy student of 7 years passes board exam on first take

  • A Pharmacy student spent 7 years in college, but passes board exam on first try
  • Adrian Gales moved to various schools and would fail or drop subjects during his tertiary education
  • In the end, he managed to pull through, even receiving high scores for his Pharmacist board results

“Huli man daw at magaling, naihahabol din” — this Filipino saying was proven by a student who spent seven years in college but passed the Pharmacy board exam on his first try.

Adrian Gales experienced many hardships during his tertiary education; failing or dropping 11 subjects, including a crucial Pharmacy subject related to his course, all the while moving from one school to another.

The slow route to graduation ended up being the right choice for him, even as many believed he would never pass the board exam due to his background in college.

Gales shared that he started out as a student who was placed in the ‘star section,’ a class composed of the top 40 students in the school’s comprehensive exam. He would be a Dean’s Lister for four consecutive times but somehow, along the way, his stellar performance started to dwindle.

He was not all that serious in taking up reviews for his board exam, after graduating seven years overdue.

He did not state his reasons why he only attended 5 days of the 3-month review program, and only even crammed three days before taking the test, but in the end he pulled through with flying colors—he passed the tests achieving high scores as icing-on-the-cake.

Despite all the tribulations, Gales’ persistence shone and he was able to turn a new leaf by accomplishing his goal when everyone else doubted him.

Kudos to the successful graduate!
