Good sex will probably make you remember everything the morning after

  • Having good sex especially as you get older can actually reduce your risk of memory loss
  • They discovered that those who often have sex perform better on the exam given
  • “Intimacy means that the emotional closeness to your partner might be a stimulating areas of the brain that are associated with memory”

Mark Allen, from the University of Wollong in Austrialia, a lead author of the study that was published in May 2018 in a journal of the “Archives of Sexual Behaviour,” revealed that having more sex, especially as you get older can actually reduce your risk of memory loss.

There were 6,016 adults, ages 50 and older, who were tasked to complete a memory test for the research. They also answered questions about their diet, health, sexual activity which include kissing , masturbation and having sex, and how emotionally close they are with their partners.

Then after two years, they were asked to complete the same set of memory test again.

As a result, the respondents who were more sexually active – which included kissing and masturbating – and those who were emotionally close with their love ones, had better memory performance.

Actually, the older respondents have a stronger link between frequent sex and better memory. The lead author of the study concluded that “intimacy means that the emotional closeness to your partner might be stimulating areas of the brain that are associated with memory,” thus, making you remember things better.

There was also another study that supported these recent findings. In 2015, a report released by Manchester University, a study surveyed 1,700 respondents, ages 58 to 98, by conducting a series of tests to measure their brain power.

They discovered that those who often having sex performed better on the exam given. Then it was revealed further that people who were sexually active have better cognitive functions (mental processes that help us gather and process information) including memory.

Much earlier in the year 2010, the Public Library of Science published a similar study where it was concluded that sexual activity actually promotes cell growth in the hippocampus, the area in the brain that plays a key role in the memory, and where knowledge is gained.
