Pinay maid receives high-end gifts from generous employers in Saudi

  • OFW received around ₱500,000 worth of gifts and financial aid from Saudi employers.
  • Gifts included bags and shoes from high-end brands and support for her youngest child.

Ever wonder what’s it like having employers shower you with gifts?

In a recent story in Filipino Times, a Pinay domestic helper might be the luckiest domestic helper in Saudi as her employers financially helped her on the construction of her own house in Pulilan, Bulacan. They also helped with the medication of her sick daughter back home.

The 31-year-old Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) named Mhai San Pedro, said she’s blessed to have found employers who treat her like family. She flew to Saudi Arabia with the hopes of earning money to build a house, but she received more as she has been treated with generosity and kindness.

She and her husband were factory workers before she decided to fly overseas to work. They have three children and their youngest was born with a weak pulmonary system.

The mother had swallowed her pride and asked everyone if she could borrow money from them as the frequent medical examinations in the hospital found them saddled with debts.

They survived by eating eggs every single day and have lived in a makeshift home. This was when she decided to leave her family in order to provide a better life for them.

San Pedro has received hundreds of thousands worth of gifts from her employers, including items from high-end brands like Burberry, Michael Kors, Tory Burch, and Gucci.

Aside from the gifts, they have also provided support for the medication of her child and pulled her out of a difficult situation when her little one suffered from an asthma attack and was brought to the hospital.

“Lahat sila nagshare—mga kapatid ni madam, kapatid ni sir. ‘Di ko alam na gagawin nila yun. Nagulat lang ako nung inaabot na nila sakin ‘yung pera. Tulong daw nila sakin para sa anak ko. Napakasaya ko po noon.”

They also occasionally gaver her around ₱21,000 to ₱35,000 for the construction of her house back home.

According to San Pedro, this just proves that there are good employers and she gives back to them by giving her best to show her gratitude.
