The undated photo of the the Department of Finance Spokesperson holding the Houce Mace was posted on her Instagram page with the caption “Keeper of the Honorable Seal”. This caused a ruckus as the congress proceeded without the mace and the sound system turned off.

If proven, Paola could be liable for violating the Articles 143 and 144 of the Revised Penal Code where the rules on crimes against popular representation are written.

Article 143 states that all acts tending to prevent the meeting of an assembly and other bodies shall be punished while Article 144 punishes those who disturb or interrupt meetings of the Congress of any of its committees and constitutional commissions.

In addition to paying fines and serving jail time, those proven guilty could be held liable for contempt by Congress.

In a text message to Politiko, Paola saw nothing wrong with her photo and proceeded to joke about the incident.

Hahahaa,”
