Manny Pacquiao fulfills promise to ice cream vendor, gives ₱33k and house and lot

  • Boxer and senator Manny Pacquiao gives Php30,000 to ice cream vendor.
  • The vendor, Mang Lino, who recently suffered from a stroke, also received his own house and lot from the politician.

Manny Pacquiao is one of the richest people in the country. The Filipino professional boxer and politician were ranked no. 63 at Forbes’ The World’s Highest-Paid Athletes of 2016.

In spite of his success, Pacquiao did not hesitate to help the ice cream vendor he encountered while waiting for his vehicle to arrive.

One netizen named Jen Manilay bought ten ice cream bars from an old man, named Mang Lino, and gave one to the senator. Pacquiao then told Manilay to call the vendor over.

He proceeded to give the 74-year-old vendor Php3,000, but after chatting with him and learning that he just had a stroke, and is currently facing the challenge of sending his three children to school, Pacquiao raised his offer to Php30,000.

The kindness of the boxing champion did not stop there as he also offered a job to the vendor, upon seeing how he was having difficulties considering his condition.

And finally, when the vendor said that he was only renting a shanty house with his family, Pacquiao promised that he would give him his own house and lot.

And it did not become an empty promise! The following week, the boxer personally turned over the vendor’s new fully furnished house and lot to him and his family.

Pacquiao’s help was a big thing for the family as he continuously struggled with money. Mang Lino had to get two jobs: a bottle cleaner and an ice cream vendor. But he admitted that it’s still not enough to support him and his family as he only earns Php300 even on good days.

As a result, Manny Pacquiao decided to chat more with the family as they tour the premises of their brand new house.
