- Marie Vargas shared a tear-jerking story on her Facebook account about a boy he had seen at a fast food restaurant.
- The little boy was eating breakfast all by himself, waiting for school to start.
Everyone knows how sad it is to be alone, what more to eat a meal without having someone to share it with.
Whenever someone dines alone in a crowded place, people around them can’t help but feel sad seeing that the person doesn’t have anyone else to eat with.
However, it is more heartbreaking when that person who is eating all by himself is a kid – who is supposed to be eating with his family.
The story of the kid was shared on social media through Marie Vargas’ trending post.
Her post immediately went viral after she shared the picture of the little boy who was munching on his pancakes all alone.
“As I just finished dropping my son off at school and walk into burger King to get some breakfast I see this… this sweet beautiful little boy. Eating breakfast, ALONE, BY HIMSELF, before he heads off to school. It couldn’t help but break my heart, I asked him if he was by himself and he said he was just here alone waiting for school to start and finish his pancakes. I asked him if I could sit with him, and keep him company he said yes. So that’s what I did. I just sat there with him enjoying his company and we talked a bit while he ate his pancakes. As a parent I know we get busy, we may forget, work or relationships or maybe just life overwhelms us to the point where you don’t realize what’s going on.
We’re so busy trying to do everything for our kids that we forget that we should be doing things WITH them not just for them. At the end of the day our kids don’t care about what kind of Jordans we buy them, name brand clothes, or fancy outfits. They care about us, spending time with us, having fun with us.

Vargas kept the kid company while he was having his breakfast just so the kid wouldn’t feel all sad. Even though she didn’t know the reason why he was there by himself, she reminded parents that they should spend their time with their kids, and not their money.
Because at the end of the day, material things cannot compare to the wonderful memories created when a parent and a child spends time with each other.
The netizens were saddened after seeing the hint of sadness in the picture Vargas posted along with the story of Jason.
Indeed, it is difficult to be a parent as they need to work hard to be able to support their family and provide meals for them three times a day. However, it is a part of their responsibility to make sure that the children feels that they are loved, no matter how busy a parent can be.
As children grow up, they carry the memories they’ve had with their family, not the material things they acquired.
