These Med Students Take ‘Group Study’ To A Whole New Level

This tweet started it all

Group Of Med Students Take 'Group Study'

The story

It was a normal evening for Mara Villaroya and her friends to do a ‘group study’ in a coffee shop near their dormitories. Never would they have expected that the what-seemed-to-be-normal, bringing and actually owning microscopes, to them as med students could amuse someone and make a buzz online.

The group was a bunch of second-year medicine students from Davao Medical School Foundation.

In an interview, Mara said that they were just reviewing for their General Pathology exams.

Choosing to keep their identities anonymous, “I’d rather leave our names confidential,” Mara says.

“The owner isn’t too happy with it being viral kasi on social media. Akala lng namin few RT lang on twitter. Kasi the caption was off and I think it’s givng people the wrong idea about owning a microscope in med school. Thank you,” she continues.

Not wanting to attract more attention that could distract them from their goals, the group opted to hide in the bushes and preferred not to be named.

We got to salute them for being that serious and dedicated to what they are doing, let’s just wish them good luck! Kudos to our determined med students!
