VIRAL: Bride goes to her wedding by using Uber

MANILA, Philippines. It could have been a bride’s worst nightmare, but Lilith Villamor didn’t let a bridal car mishap rain on her parade.

In a lengthy Facebook post, Villamor detailed how Uber, a transport mobile app of ride-sharing company, saved her on one of the most important days of her life: her wedding. Villamor was supposed to ride a bridal car to the church for her wedding but the driver unfortunately left the keys inside the vehicle’s compartment. Realizing that the problem wouldn’t be solved anytime soon, Villamor decided to grab her phone and book an Uber ride.

A black Toyota Innova, something you wouldn’t normally get as your bridal car, arrived at the hotel where Villamor was staying. Luckily, her companions were able to put flowers and turn the Innova into a decent bridal car.

The bride arrived at the church 15 minutes after leaving the hotel, stress-free and just in time for the ceremony. Moreover, the driver, who happens to be a Christian, even prayed over the couple and waited until the whole entourage was able to enter the church.

Villamor, who only paid P101 to get to her wedding, encouraged brides to hire the services of Uber instead of getting a bridal car.

Wag na kau mag hire ng bridal car. Anong sabi ng 101 php na pamasahe ko sa libo na pag hire sa bridal car? Pero kung trip mo mag hire ng jaguar o ng limo o ng convertible o kung ano pa man, go lang. Importante makarating kau sa ceremony,” she wrote in her post.

(Don’t hire a bridal car. How could a bridal car with thousands of pesos rental fee beat my my P101-fare? But if you would like to hire a Jaguar, a limo, a convertible, or whatever you want, just do it. What’s important is you’ll arrive at the ceremony.)

Probably the first Uber bride, Villamor claimed that the car rental company did not pay her for writing the post.
