MANILA, Philippines. Following speculations that Ciara Sotto had called it quits with husband Jojo Oconer, the 35-year-old actress finally admitted leaving her spouse and their home.
On Friday, January 15, Sotto addressed the rumors through an Instagram post.
“These past weeks have been very difficult for me and my son. It’s true that I moved out of our home and decided to go back to my parents’ house for now. The truth is painful, but it is what it is. I know that the Lord will strengthen me after this. I prefer to keep my privacy at this time and I would appreciate the public respecting this. Thank you to those who are sending me messages of support and encouragement,” Sotto wrote.
Although Sotto did not disclose details as to why she left Oconer, the actress implied instances of cheating in several Instagram posts last week.
Furthermore, a report by Fashion Pulis revealed that Sotto discovered that Oconer was having an affair through his mobile phone. Apparently, an actress with whom Sotto previously worked with on a show was the third party in their marriage.
“Allegedly, the third party is a co-actress with whom Sotto has worked with in [sic] a show, and where Oconer holds a position in the production team. Oconer is said to be close with Tony Tuviera, who is the head honcho of Tape Productions and a good friend of the Sottos,” Fashion Pulis reported.
Sotto and Oconer tied the knot on January 17, 2010 at the Westfield Manila Polo Club in Forbes Park, Makati City. Sotto gave birth to their son Vincezo Xose last year.
