Photos of a very strange-looking, pink creature have been circulating online and drawing numerous opinions and long discussions from several netizens.
According to Gianna Peponis from California, she heard a loud scream in her backyard one night. When she went outside to check what it was, she found a dead creature she could not identify.
Trying to find answers, she posted photos on Facebook which was later on reposted on Reddit.
“I wasn’t gunna [sic] post this but I can’t stop trying to figure out wtf this thing is. I heard something scream at like 11.30 last night and went out on my side yard and found this thing. It was dead when I found it,” Peponis said in her post.
One Reddit user strongly believed it was “clearly an alien” while another claimed it was a “facehugger”—the creature from the Alien films that latches onto the faces of its victims. Another user said it’s half of a deer fetus which had been chewed on by scavengers or predators. One man explained that “hoofed animals can freak out and drop a fetus, amniotic sack and all, when scared. Or maybe it was a still birth.”
Meanwhile, netizen Teshawn Michael Stafford posted the same photos of the creature on Facebook and said that it was not an alien but a deformed cow. He also tagged his friend Sarah Burks, who claimed to be the original owner of the viral images.
“Yeah, this was in our yard. It’s not an alien, pretty sure it’s a baby deformed cow. It’s crazy the stories that can be made up and that people can steal your stuff and use it, it makes me mad. But it shows how arrogant people can be for a little fame,” Burks said adding that she’s trying to figure out how to report Peponis for copyright infringement.
