LOOK: Infographic shows links between body parts and health issues

A fascinating graphic made by journalism and design company Information is Beautiful reveals the unexpected connections between body parts and health problems.

Physical characteristics, gender, as well as descent apparently have an effect on our risk for certain ailments such as cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and diabetes.

The information was based on a range of population studies conducted by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Health Services (NHS), World Health Organization. Although statistical probabilities, as well as correlations, were performed in the studies, the cause-and-effect links were not established.

It is interesting to know that individuals who suffer from allergies are less likely to have brain tumors while having big thighs lowers your risk for heart disease and stroke.

See what health problems you are more likely to have.
