Netizens React to Placard-bearing Protesters at SONA

Other users were quick to nitpick the party list’s seeming lack of positive contributions to society. FB user Rivac Oreto even accused them of earning money off of the rallies they stage, stating, “Ginagawang negosyo ang pag rarally.” (They’ve made a business out of protest actions.)

Grace Janiya, meanwhile, posts this question, “Ask them what they contributed to the development and economic upliftment of the country.”

Even those who are critics of the Aquino administration themselves were turned off by the act. “I may not agree with the president on everything he does,” says user Cesz Chanteuse, “but it is our obligation as lawful individuals to show respect to the person holding the highest position. By doing that we are simply showing what kind of people we are.”

Datu Zahir agrees, “I never like this President but he should also be treated with utmost respect, if not as President, at least as a Filipino citizen.”

Some implicated Former-VP-turned-Aquino-critic Jejomar Binay as having a hand in the placard protest. [Here come the Binay cronies. Party lists should be abolished because our taxes are just pocketed by them. They can’t even stage rallies against the Lord of Darkness himself (Binay.) ]

User Jojo Zaide, meanwhile, addresses his reactions directly to Representative Colmenares and to what he dubs as the “Makababoy” Group: “Hindi nyo ba kayang gamitin ang inyong pinag-aralan? (Can’t you use your so-called education? Or are you really pigs by nature? You even dare to wear the Barong Tagalog, but you act so indecently. Your godfather Jejomar Binay is even delighted over your disrespect to the president. You haven’t done anything for the country, and now you even disrespect Congress.)

Meanwhile on another forum, FB user Andrew Merchand Ayop pointed out what he thinks is another form of disrespect and “pambababoy” perpetrated by SONA rallyists, but this time outside the venue. Calling Mr. Colmenares, Mr. Deadly Weapon Reyes and the gang, pati yung kaluluwa niyo iniwan niyo sa daan. (Loads upon loads of garbage left by rallysists. Calling Mr. Colmenares, Mr. Deadly Weapon Reyes and the gang, even your souls were left on the streets. If only we could turn you into brooms to sweep up the garbage you left behind.”

  1. Nakaka dismaya kayo! Wala kayong respeto!
