Woman tries to kill herself because her husband did not buy the handbag she wanted

When some kids want something and they want to get it ASAP, they throw a tantrum until you give in. But one adult woman threw a tantrum of epic proportions by jumping into a lake when she did not get what she wanted.

This is what happened to a woman in Dezhou, Shandong province in China. Shanghaiist reports that the unnamed woman allegedly tried to kill herself by jumping into a nearby lake because her husband refused to buy the handbag she liked.

The woman was seen floating around the southeast side of Mingyue Lake, according to police reports, and a huge crowd was urging her to come ashore.

One witness told a reporter that the woman had already been in the water for almost 20 minutes. “She’ll get sick if she stays [any longer].”

When the police arrived, they quickly threw her a life preserver, but she declined to hold on to it.

In hopes of rescuing  her, they looked for her husband and when they found him in the crowd, they asked him to comfort his wife.

So did he help her? Well, instead of helping his partner, he only shouted at her to get out of the lake.

Still the woman stayed there. So her husband jumped into the lake but instead of rescuing her, he wrapped his arms around the victim’s neck and pushed her face into the water.

The police officers quickly went into the water to stop the couple.

According to the woman, her husband would always abuse and beat her up at home. She explained that she threatened to commit suicide not only because of the bag but because of all the cruelty she has suffered in his hands.
