Meet Japan’s most famous and highest paid host, Hikaru Aizawa.

Prior to becoming a host, Aizawa worked as a salesman for wedding and funeral events. His experience in this field made him realize that customers purchase products because they can trust him. Through this, the “King of Hosts” learned how to sell himself.

Capitalizing on gaining a client’s trust was Aizawa’s secret weapon to reach his current status.

One of his regular customers told Vocativ: “I started to come here because I trust him. I believe every girl who comes here to meet him wants to become his real girlfriend.”

Reportedly, male hosts in Japan provide services including “talking, flirting, and maybe sex.”

Aside from receiving mind-blowing sums of money, male hosts get large tips as well as  lavish gifts from their female customers.

In Aizawa’s case, every single thing you can find inside his home was given by his clients. Expensive watches, limited edition designer shoes, jewelry, and a bottle of alcohol amounting to $7,000 are just some of the gifts he received from his customers.
