Beware of this budol-budol modus in Alabang

Netizen Jaymir Mhirra Belara Agustin shared her encounter with a budol-budol scam in Alabang wherein she was almost robbed.

Agustin narrates how she and her child were approached by a man handing out flyers with a promo. She ignored him in their haste to catch a ride to San Pedro, Laguna. She saw how the man called out to a woman and pointed to Agustin and her child. The woman accosted Agustin and told her to come with her since they were giving out free samples of the detergent soap Champion. Agustin refused but the woman held on to her and forcibly led them to a table by Alabang’s bus station where their items such as detergents, pain relievers, and other items were displayed. Agustin noticed an object much like a piece of wood and another like a small stone.

The so-called products for sale.

The woman pitched to them and explained what the products were for then asked for P50 as a donation and asked for another P300 for the wood object which supposedly had a crucifix carving. Agustin, however, did not believe in such objects and when she tried to refuse, another woman tried to threaten her with a sharp object pointed at the side of her body and demanded Agustin to open her bag. Agustin was thankful her child had pulled her hair (seemingly awakening her) before she had given the money. However, for their safety, Agustin opted to give P150 anyway.

Several commenters on the post also expressed their similar experiences, some attesting that the modus does indeed happen in Alabang.

Agustin called out to the government officials of Muntinlupa City to look into this matter.
