Watch out for the Nintendo theme park

Calling all 80s and 90s kids! Super Mario, Pikachu, Donkey Kong, and Zelda will no longer be mere memories of your childhood.

No longer limited to game consoles and emulators, Nintendo has inked agreements with Universal Parks & Resort to create a one-of-a-kind theme park. For their part, Universal has established a long track record of making successful spinoffs of others’ intellectual property both on the big screen and in rides at their parks.

Nintendo holds dear to its heart each and every one of its characters (for all his evil deeds, who doesn’t love Koopa, really?) and it was indeed a big step to share them with Universal and eventually with the world. Their main goal? In the official press release, they wish to create spectacular, dedicated experiences based on Nintendo’s wildly popular games, characters, and worlds.

Gamers and non-gamers alike are sure to be looking forward to this venture. Though no details have been finalized, one can only dream and think up of hundreds of ideas on rides and attractions. The possibilities are endless for a Nintendo-branded theme park. Mario Kart-inspired race tracks, Pokemon Safari Adventures, Super Mario Ghost Houses are only few of the very many options. Ideas, anyone?
