Online shops are very popular. They are convenient, hassle-free, and you can find almost anything you need. Aside from online stores, there are also some buy-and-sell groups on Facebook. In the Philippines where most consumers are practical, many social media users join these groups to buy “pre-owned” items or swap them for something the that they think are of better quality.
Just recently, a member of a popular buy and sell page on Facebook named Baldo M. posted an ad to “swap” his girlfriend named Trisha. The ad had specifications similar to other ads that describe gadgets. In Baldo’s post, he described his girlfriend as “slightly used minsan na-abused” (slightly used and sometimes abused). It also specified that the issue with his girlfriend is not a virgin anymore.
The group Hachi’s Buy and Sell has over 18,000 likes and is one of the most popular buy and sell Facebook groups in the country. It also is a credible online selling group since it verifies its members of online sellers and is strict with its rules and posting. As of writing, the ad can no longer be found on the website.
We are also waiting for Baldo’s reply about the intention of his posted ad.
