Real Giant Squid Found on a Beach in New Zealand

Giant squids may seem like just urban legends or just childhood fantasies as the modern era have shooed them away from men. However, just last May 12, a real giant squid was found in Kaikoura beach in New Zealand.

Photos of a giant squid were released by Kaikoura Marine Center and Aquarium. They were even posted on their Facebook Page. According to their post, the squid is over 2 meters long and has a 19cm eye diameter. It is even bigger than an adult male. Its longest tentacle is over 5 meters!

Currently, the squid is now frozen and on display at their aquarium. They would also be sending some samples to Auckland and Otago universities for research.
