Man accidentally kills toddler after attempting to imitate “The Undertaker slam”

A 20-year-old man from Pennsylvania is now facing an involuntary manslaughter charge after accidentally killing an 18-month-old baby with his failed wrestling move.

The man identified as Brandon Hoffman attempted to copy The Undertaker’s signature wrestling slam known as “The Last Ride” with Bryson Shoemaker inside his home in Jersey Shore. Sadly, his attempt to execute the move ended in a tragedy as he accidentally slammed the toddler to the floor.

Shoemaker sustained a broken neck and a collapsed lung leading to his death.

According to cops, Hoffman was looking after Shoemaker while his girlfriend Sierra, the boy’s mother, was at work. Hoffman claimed he was supposed to land the toddler on the bed as he had done in a  previous successful attempt.

Instead of calling 911, Hoffman brought Shoemaker to the hospital where the toddler was declared dead.

Moreover, Hoffman initially told the police he tossed Shoemaker into the air and failed to catch him resulting to his fatal injury. He later on admitted performing the wrestling move with the toddler.

Meanwhile, WWE condemned the action of Hoffman.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, the WWE rep said: “There is no excuse for a 20-year-old grown man to assault an 18-month old child, no matter what. Using a flimsy excuse about emulating a wrestling maneuver does not absolve Brandon Hoffman of this abhorrent crime. The death of Bryson Shoemaker is a tragedy, and WWE offers its condolences to the child’s mother, Sierra Shoemaker.”

Hoffman’s bail is currently set at $150,000.
