Teenager Had No Heartbeat for 45 Minutes…But Mommy Brings a Miracle

While enjoying a day out with friends at the lake, John Smith met an accident that changed his life forever. Lake Saint Louise in Missouri, USA, was frozen at the time, so he and two other friends decided to take a photo to forever etch this lovely view on paper.

What they did not know was that the photo could have been their last! Although the lake was frozen, the part where the three boys were crouching was not as thick as they believed. Moments after the photograph was taken, the ice sheet broke and John was dunked into the icy waters, reports RachFeed.

For 15 minutes, John was submerged in the cold waters as rescuers fought hard to save him without also causing more problems.

It was a good thing the rescuers had just finished training about rescue procedures on ice, so the mission went rather smoothly. However, John had no pulse by the time he was taken out of the water.

At the emergency room, the teenager continued to have a flat line even though the hospital staff did their best to revive him. For 30 minutes they labored yet John’s condition never showed signs of improvement. They called John’s mommy, Joyce Smith, to the room and told her they could not do anything to revive the boy.

Joyce began to fervently pray to the Lord, begging him to revive her son and bring him back to her. Her powerful prayer filled the room and touched the hearts of the hospital staff. Then, they witnessed a miracle. Even after over 45 minutes of not beating, John’s heart beat again. No eye was dry at the hospital room.

What surprised them even more is that John soon recovered and regained normal function of most of his body. His hands needed some therapy but he was otherwise perfectly fine – and that is absolutely amazing considering his body was dead for 45 minutes!
