How To Get Your Modernized PHLPost ID

New high-tech PHLPost ID’s are now available in selected post offices all over the country.

PHLPost Business Lines Manager Eric Tagle said they will be providing 260 centrally located post offices with equipment for the issuance of modernised postal IDs. Tools for digital capture of photos, fingerprints, and signatures will be deployed in 43 offices in Manila, 143 in Luzon, 41 in Visayas, and 33 in Mindanao.

According to Tagle, postal ID has become popular among Filipinos even for employees because it is a valid government ID that does not require applicants to have qualifications, employment or special skills.

“Postal IDs are helpful for many Filipinos who have a hard time getting transactions done, whether in applying for a job, loan or passport or encashing a check because they lack a valid proof of identity and address,” Tagle said.

Here are a few reminders issued by PHLPost to facilitate easier processing of postal IDs:

  1. Bring original and photocopies of birth certificate issued by the National Statistics Office or local civil registry.
  2. Present proof address such as utility bills or baranggay clearance.
  3. Married females must show Marriage Certificate for validation of change of name.
  4. Parents or Legal guardian must accompany minors.

Each postal ID costs P370 plus 12% VAT all over the Philippines. These IDs will be delivered to the applicant’s address so there’s no need for you to come back to pick it up.
