Woman Who Looks Twice Her Age Seeks Cosmetic Surgery 

Hu Juan, a 28-year-old woman from Zhengzhou, Henan province is seeking the help of cosmetic surgeons to solve her dilemma.

Apparently, parenthood has taken its toll on Hu Juan as she started ageing prematurely after giving birth to her son 11 years ago. According to her, she felt that her neck was beginning to sag at that moment.

She said: “I thought it was natural, you know after women gave births, many things would change.”

Through the years, her condition progressed and her face also started to wrinkle while other parts of her body remained normal . It even worsened when she gave birth to her daughter. Now 28 years old, Hu Juan looks like she’s in her 60’s or 70’s.

However, Hu Juan found out that she has a very rare disorder called Cutis laxa when she sought the opinion of doctors. The condition which is characterised by loss of elasticity of the skin, causes a person’s skin to become wrinkled, loose and saggy at a very fast pace. Due to the disorder, patients with this condition appear to look twice their age.

,Ageing isn’t the only effect of the condition to Hu Juan. Disappointed by the way she looks, Hu Juan became depressed and tried to commit suicide. Moreover, she avoided coming out in public.

Although there is no guarantee that plastic surgery can entirely solve Hu Juan’s problem, doctors in the Shanghai clinic are hopeful that they can improve her appearance. The medical team plans to remove the woman’s excessive wrinkled skin and insert fat on her face and neck to achieve her youthful appearance.

The head of the plastic surgery clinic Li Xiang explained:

“But it’s not certain how long the effect of the surgery would last, as cutis laxa has been proved a worldwide medical problem. The only thing we can do now is to try our best to give her a good look after the surgery.”
