Hainan Province, China – A man on a safe and concluding China Eastern flight MU2331 opened the plane’s emergency door, triggering its emergency inflatable slide.
According to Mashable, the man told authorities that he never paid attention during the safety briefing, so he was never aware that the door was only to be mustered up for emergencies.
It appeared that the man was getting impatient as they were alighting the plane. Thinking he could get off the plane quicker, he pushed open the emergency door.
The incident resulted in a two-hour delay in the return flight of the plane. Moreover, the cost of setting up again the emergency door would be at least $16,000, reports Mashable.
