27th AWIT AWARDS

The AWIT AWARDS is an expression of the Filipino’s undying passion for music – music etched in every Filipino’s heart. Awit Awards is a prestigious award-giving body, spearheaded by PARI (THE PHILIPPINE ASSOCIATION OF THE RECORD INDUSTRY, INC.), that gives recognition to Filipino performing artists and people behind the making of Filipino recorded music.

They aim to recognize exceptional works of music and the people working behind it; to promote the Philippine music industry, artistry, and legacy; to champion music making and production, at par with global trends and excellence; to showcase talents in an event dedicated to music; and to reinforce the fight against piracy.

The Awit Awards, organized by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry or PARI recently announced its official list of nominees for 2014. Sarah Geronimo got nine nominations including Best Performance by a Female Recording Artist for her song “Ikot-Ikot.” Meanwhile, it was the newest Pop-Balladeer TJ Monterde who got the most nominations for a solo male artist. Monterde got five nominations, including Best Performance by a Male Recording Artist, Best Performance by a New Male Recording Artist, Best Ballad Recording, Music Video of the Year and Song of the Year for his song “Ikaw at Ako.”

The pre-screening was happened at Uncle Cheffy’s Promenade, Greenhills, San Juan last June 4, 2014 and judging last November 11-12, 2014 at Club Filipino, Greenhills, San juan.
