September marks the start of Christmas in the Philippines. Radio stations started playing Christmas songs and malls are now offering decors at discounted rates. And while our tradition of celebrating Christmas the earliest in the world is still evident up to this modern times, seems like spammers are also riding on this trend.

Recently, another Facebook spam post is circulating specially on various Facebook groups. A supposedly Christmas offer from the brand Johnson & Johnson is giving away free Johnson’s Baby Relief Kit. Clicking on the link will lead you to a page mimicking a Facebook layout and asking users to post certain texts to their Facebook walls and five other groups in order for them to claim the said kit. However, doing so will still prompt a message that you haven’t posted the required text and will only ask you to do it over and over thereby spamming your friends and your subscribed groups’ timelines.

In order to avoid your accounts getting compromised, it’s advisable not to click on any of these malicious offerings specially if it’s not posted directly by the official accounts of the brands they’re pretending to be.
