Water Repellent Shoes Can Make You Walk on Water?

There’s a viral video in 2010 from Hi-Tec Sports, resurfaced again thru social media. Not everyone is using google so the only thing they can do is to argue or scratch heads and raise eyebrows if that is true. Some others continue to share it without verifying if it’s true or not making the video viral again.

The viral video is set in Gerês, Portugal, and features a documentary-style clip introducing a new sport called Liquid Mountaineering, in which athletes take a running start and run on top of water. The video, which was posted on YouTube on April 2010, already has over 13 million views. The great thing about ‘Walk On Water’ is that it is shot like a documentary making it not obviously fake and not like an advertisement.

Here’s the viral video on Liquid Mountaineering:

Liquid Mountaineering is a new sport which is attempting to achieve what man has tried to do for centuries: walk on water. Or to be more precise: running on water. We are developing the sport from scratch. By accident we found out that with the right water repellent equipment you can run across bodies of water, just like a stone skimming the surface. There are some historical statements that suggest that this sport was created by the Greek, but now it is recreated and it’s one of the most impossible looking activities that anyone has seen.

Just a hoax!

The guys who made walking on water also uploaded a video explaining how they acuatally did it and how it was all a hoax just to sell their shoe, but they did not intended to make that it would acually be a sport. Liquid Mountaineering is nothing more than a advertising gimmick.

Here’s the video of their admission that ‘Walking on Water’ is a total hoax:

Surprisingly, even if it’s totally impossible for us to walk on water, many people think the sport and the video is real! After all, if stones can skip on water why can’t we?
