Senator Bam Aquino has commended five Filipino dance crews that brought home medals from the 2026 World Hip Hop Dance Championship in Phoenix, Arizona.
Aquino filed Senate Resolution No. 591 congratulating Femme MNL, HQ, The Crew, Folk Jumpers, and Sayawatha Jr. for their performances at the international competition organized by Hip Hop International from July 25 to August 1.
Two Philippine teams emerged as champions.
Femme MNL won the Megacrew Division, while HQ captured the top prize in the Adult Division.
The Crew secured the silver medal in the Megacrew Division, giving the Philippines a 1-2 finish in the category alongside Femme MNL.
Folk Jumpers, meanwhile, earned bronze in the Adult Division, while Sayawatha Jr. also took home bronze in the Junior Division.
Other Philippine representatives at the competition included A-Kidz, Sayawatha, NDDU Generals, A-Gyalz, A-Boiz, and UNRVLD, which competed across various divisions.
Aquino Recognizes Filipino Dance Talent
In his resolution, Aquino said the results demonstrated the level of talent Filipino dance groups are bringing to international competitions.
โThe continued success of Filipino dance crews in international hip hop competitions affirms the Philippines’ reputation for producing exceptional dance talent and highlights the country’s vibrant creative sector, whose artists continue to elevate Filipino culture and creativity on the world stage,โ Aquino said.
The resolution also recognized the coaches, choreographers, mentors, families, dance organizations, and supporters who helped prepare the Filipino competitors for the international event.
โThese accomplishments inspire young Filipinos to pursue excellence in the performing arts and reaffirm the importance of supporting dance as a platform for creativity, cultural expression, and talent development,โ Aquino added.
The senator has also filed resolutions recognizing recent international appearances by Filipino P-pop groups SB19 and BINI.
Through Senate Resolution No. 545, Aquino congratulated SB19 following the group’s July 30 performance at Lollapalooza at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois.

He earlier filed Senate Resolution No. 370 recognizing BINI following the group’s performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, where they became the first all-Filipino group to perform at the festival.
Supporting the creative economy is also included in Aquino’s agenda as chairperson of the Senate Committee on Trade, Commerce, and Entrepreneurship. His stated plans include expanding opportunities for Filipino artists, filmmakers, designers, creators, and other creative professionals to reach international markets.
Aquino has also proposed establishing a government agency focused on supporting and promoting Philippine creative industries, drawing comparison to South Korea’s Korea Creative Content Agency or KOCCA.
