A year after dismissing the University of the Philippines (U)P Maroon shooter as a potential boyfriend, Brillantes finally said ‘yes’ to Rivero’s proposal to be her boyfriend, following the victory of the latter’s team at the recent UAAP.
“Tropa. Eh kasi hindi ko pa po s’ya nakikilala…personally. Pero di ba, ‘pag basketball player, manloloko daw (Friends. I haven’t met him personally yet. But people say, basketball players are cheaters, right)?” answered Brillantes when asked whether she’d choose the celebrity athlete as a friend or as a boyfriend.
The video resurfaced online just a few days after Ricci Rivero publicly proposed to Andrea Brillantes to be his girlfriend.

Video of that proposal made rounds on social media for days, with netizens expressing mixed reactions after.
Rivero made his proposal after his team, UP Maroons won its basketball bout against the Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws on Saturday, April 9.
Brillantes, who was part of the audience that day. Two men holding up shirts that said ‘YES’ or ‘NO’ stood conveniently ready for the Kapamilya actress’s choice.
She chose ‘YES’.

Brilantes, meanwhile, showed how surprised she was getting a boyfriend after the game

Before saying yes to Ricci, Andrea was previously in a relationship with the Kapamilya actor, Seth Fedelin, who promptly went on social media to clear some issues that quickly surfaced after the viral proposal video. Netizens also noted how another Kapamilya star, Francine Diaz, was dragged by Brillantes into her past issues with her now ex-boyfriend Seth Fedelin.
