LJ Reyes’ relationship with Paolo Contis just as good as being married

She explained that a relationship will remain strong as long as the love and respect for each other is there

LJ Reyes feels like her relationship with boyfriend Paolo Contis is almost as good as being married.

Just right after renewing her contract with GMA Network, Reyes said that it is important for lovers to remain friends because puppy love will not last forever.

“Importante na friends kayo. Especially sa mga bagets diyan, yung mga kilig-kilig na yan, nawawala yan.”

She explained that a relationship will remain strong as long as the love and respect for each other are there.

“Kung meron kayong solid relationship, kahit wala yung kilig, magandang foundation talaga ‘yun. Yung unconditional love and respect niyo to each other kailangan andun yun.

“Kami kasi ni Paolo, we know each other at friends.

The pandemic made her see how reliable a partner Paolo is as their relationship became more “mature.”

“Yung dynamic namin ni Pao nagmamature over the years.

“Mas naramdaman ko rin this time na talagang maaasahan ko si Pao.

“He would shield us from any harm. Kahit langgam pa yan o lamok.

“Ganun ko na feel yung proteksyon niya sa amin during this whole time.”

She just hopes that Paolo can see how supportive she has been for him.

“Hopefully napakita ko sakanya yung support ko. Parang mas naging team kami ngayon. Parang mas na explore mo yung pagiging team. Kasi kailangan meron kayong plano. Kailangan pagusapan yung mga bagay.

“Kailangan open, may communication. Marunong kayong mag compromise.

And of course, they’d like to get married one day but it has not happened yet because there are things “out of control.”

“Meron mga bagay out of our control. Kung kami ang papipiliin, gusto namin yan.” she said when asked if they are planning on tying the knot.

“Ang plano namin is to spend our lifetime together, to raise our family together,” she added.

Contis and Reyes have a daughter named Summer Ayana. Contis appears in the series I left my heart in Sorsogon.
