Maricar Reyes admits she told Richard Poon everything

  • Maricar Reyes shared the story of how she told Richard Poon everything when they were still dating.
  • In one vlog, the couple discussed the topic of honesty when it comes to partners.

Being a celebrity is a difficult thing, but being a celebrity with a controversial past is a different story altogether.

Actress Maricar Reyes shared that she didn’t leave a single stone untouched when she told her husband, Richard Poon what happened in the past.

On their “Relationship Matters” vlog, Reyes recalled she decided to tell Poon ‘everything’ when they started dating.

“Noong hindi pa kami dating ni Richard, I made some mistakes of my own sa past,” she stated, as Poon sits beside her. She admitted that she was having second thoughts on telling him such stories.

“Nagdadalawang isip ako kung sasabihin ko sa kanya o hindi. Noong una, hindi ko sinasabi. But eventually there was one evening, tinawagan ko siya ulit.

“Naisip ko, ‘Bahala na.’ Pa-cute pa ako, kasi nakakatakot, e. It’s very difficult to tell bad things about yourself to your partner. Siyempre, gusto mo mag-pa-impress, ‘di ba?” she said.

Reyes then began telling Poon everything without thinking about the outcome or how Poon would react after hearing them. “Eventually, tumawag ako sa kanya, and I told him lahat ng baho ko na nakakahiya. Kung ayaw na niya ako after telling him all the things that I wanted to tell him, e ‘di huwag. E ‘di tapos na. At least, before anything got more complicated, nasabi ko na.”

She went on saying that “Sometimes, when you’re younger, you’re more emotional, more idealistic. Pag nakarinig ka ng mali, akala mo end of the world na, e. Pero ngayon, having gone through some stuff, ako, I’ve realized the value of truth.

Maganda kasi na alam ng partner mo ‘yung kabuuan mo. Since alam niya ‘yung bad ko, alam ko rin ‘yung bad niya, mahal ko siya nang buo. Walang kondiyson — good or bad, I love you.”

Poon agreed with his wife. He said that telling your partner the truth will assure you that he/she can handle you. And to make a long term relationship work, you need to come clean to your partner. “Kasi ‘pag kaunti pa lang ‘yung truths na nilabas mo, hindi niya kinayanan, paano pa kayo magsasama ng buong buhay niyo, na magkakaanak pa kayo, at marami pa kayong pagdadaanan together?” he said.

“You want to end up marrying somebody that can handle your whole truth,”
