This Woman Often Gets Mistaken for Different Genders because of Her Hair

  • A Facebook user named Jasmine Brosas Araneta shared how often she heard comments from other people who had mistaken her for a different gender.
  • She said that the reason why she is often mistaken for different genders is because of her haircut.

One of the most famous sayings commonly heard is, “Looks can be deceiving.”

The same saying is indeed true, as people can hide what or who they really are by the way the fix themselves, the way the dress, act or speak.

As a matter of fact, there are a lot of instances when gay people are often mistaken as real women due to the fact that they give more attention to their physical appearance compared to the other women. On the other hand, there are also occurrences when a female is mistaken as a male due to her facial attributes.

One of the people who often get mistaken for their gender is Jasmine Brosas Araneta.

She already experienced what it is like to be mistaken for a male, a gay and even a lesbian. The reason for it: her haircut.

Araneta shared this experience to her social media account which went viral as soon as she posted it.

GIRL, BOY, BAKLA, TOMBOY.

‘Debale ng sabihan ka ng baklang mukang babae, kesa sabihan ka ng babaeng mukang bakla.’

Hindi ko makalimutan yang mga salitang yan mula sa isang gay contest. (lol) Muka talagang girl yung nagsabe nyan. Samantalang ako, eto, sa tuwing pupunta sa isang lugar, (for shooting, work, mag visit sa friends, mamasyal kung saan, etc) lagi akong napagkakamalang bakla. I have nothing against lgbt community (besides, super love ko pa sila).”

Often times, she gets mistaken as a gay mainly because of her haircut and the way she dressed – according to what she finds comfortable.

However, it doesn’t necessarily mean that she has anything against the LGBT community.

Not to brag but here are some scenarios that I encountered.

(one) NV
Ate 1: Ang ganda naman ni ate!
Ate 2: Ay nako, bakla naman yan eh!

(two) NV
.”

(three)
(nv
)”

Araneta can easily pull off any kind of gender, from gay to a drop-dead gorgeous woman that no man will ever be able to take their eyes off of.

My point here is, wag tayong masyadong negative, judgemental, stereotype or kung anu pa. Right? (Kaya magpapakalbo na ko! Hahaahah! JOKEEEEE)

Hahahahaha.

Even though it is quite hard to be mistaken for a different gender, Araneta is still pleased with how she can change the way people think about her. Moreover, she doesn’t have any problem mix-and-matching any kind of clothes – regardless if it is men or women clothes.

On the contrary, she still reminded the netizens not to be too quick to judge especially when they can only base their judgments on what they see.

Meanwhile, the netizens were truly amazed by how easily she can pull off any kind of outfit and even admired her looks.

What are your thoughts about Araneta’s situation? Would you want to be in the same shoes?
