It may seem stranger than fiction, but a two-year-old Brazilian boy, who died while being treated for pneumonia, miraculously came back to life before dying again in his own funeral.

According to reports, Kelvin Santos passed away while being treated for pneumonia at a hospital in Belem in northern Brazil. The boy was declared dead in the evening of Friday and his remains were handed over to his family in a plastic bag.

His body was placed in an open coffin while his grieving family and relatives helad a wake for him throughout the night. But just an hour before his funeral was to be held, the unthinkable happened.

Unbelievably, the boy reportedly sat up in his coffin and asked his father, Antonio Santos, for a glass of water.

“Daddy, can I have some water?” Kelvin apparently said.

Antonio recounted the strange turn of events: “Everybody started to scream, we couldn’t believe our eyes. Then we thought a miracle had taken place and our boy had come back to life. Then Kelvin just laid back down, the way he was. We couldn’t wake him. He was dead again.”

With high hopes that his son could have come back from the dead, Antonio rushed his son back to the hospital. However, they declared the boy dead after confirming he had no signs of life.

“They assured me that he really was dead and gave me no explanation for what we had just seen and heard,” Antonio said.

Believing that there’s a chance that the boy would wake up again, the family delayed the funeral for an hour. Still, the boy was laid to rest at around 5pm that day in a local cemetery.

Antonio has filed a complaint with the police claiming that the son was a victim of medical malpractice.

“Fifteen minutes after rushing him away for resuscitation, they came and told me he was dead and handed me his body. Perhaps they didn’t examine him properly. Dead people don’t just wake up and talk. I’m determined to find out the truth”’
