Loved ones pay tribute to victims of Resorts World Manila attack

  • On Friday, June 2, a lone gunman carried out an attack at Resorts World Manila leaving himself and 37 other people dead.
  • The government believes that the attack was a work of “crazy man” and not the work of a “lone wolf” terrorist.

On Friday, June 2, a lone gunman forced his way into Resorts World Manila casino, stealing chips, shooting at LCD screens and gambling machines, and setting gambling tables on fire. As a result, 37 innocent people died including young mothers, fathers and beloved bosses.

Here are some the tributes given to them by their families and loved ones.

Jellah Ramos Tabuena

A supervisor at resorts World Manila, Jellah is a young wife and mother whose life was tragically cut short by the  incident.

“Sobrang nakakalungkot Ang nangyari sa.. resorts world bkit kailAngan pa mang damay pa…nakikiramay ako sa mga namatay nadamay…at sa asawa Ng pamangkin ko..na c jellah Ramos re st in peace..sobrang nakakalungkot..sa pamangkin ko Franz tabuena..be strong..dto Lang kami pamilya,” Fortune Tabuena wrote.

Hazel Ann Yongco

Hazel, a graduate of CEU and an employee of Resorts World, was among the first victims identified in the attack.

“Pre…bakit ang aga nmn mo kmi iniwan di k nkpgpaalm …..dami pang mga happy moments sna na mngyayari…pre..alm ko mas msaya sa piling ni Papa God pre…mamimiss kita pre,kkalugan,biruan,asaran.. pastedGraphic.png🙁 Farewell pre (hazel yongco)…we love you….,” wrote Azzi Navarro.

Arvi Gavino

A card dealer at Resorts World, Arvi was a wife and mom of two boys.

“God bless ur soul Brich.pastedGraphic.png😢pastedGraphic.png😢..Robles Arvi Gavino….Sobrang nakakalungkot ang news…matagal man tayong hindi na nagkita,pero di ko kayo makalimutan kc naging part kayo ng buhay ko,naalala ko pa ung tinutulungan kita sa paggawa ng projects mo..hayy,” Gladden Vicente Torrefiel said.

Jessica Alindogan

Another young mom who lost her life in the attack, Jessica was a supervisor at Resorts World.

Her husband Michael Alindongan wrote in a Facebook post: “To all our friends, colleagues and families, thank you so much for your thoughts, prayers, and unwavering support. My heart is totally broken for the lost of my forever love mami Jessica. She is now with our Beloved Father and will be micah’s guardian angel. Interment details still being finalized. We will keep you posted.. again, thank you for all your love and prayers.”

Rojie Uy

A loving mom to kids aged 5 and 8 years old, Rojie worked as a VIP host in Resorts World.

“Rest in peace ate Rojie pastedGraphic.png😞 eto yung last time na nakasama ka namin ng ganto sa solano. Ang saya pa natin lahat dito. Ang hirap lang talagang tanggapin.pastedGraphic_1.png😭 pakatatag ka kuya Jan Bryan kayo nila jj at Ivan,” Ivan Uy Banayat commented.

BJ Pagsibigan

An employee of Resorts World Manila, Bj was a father of two. His son Gavin turned four the day after he died in the tragic incident.

Loudette Santos

Another employee at Resorts World Manila, Loudette Santos was among those who died of suffocation as a result of the attack.

“Alam mo bang miss n miss na kita loudette. Simula ng dna tayo magkacycle 6 , 7 months ago. At dhl lagi kna sa 3rd floor dhl nauna kang napromote.  Pero last may 31 pinunthan mo ko sa table ko kse sabi mo “kapatid nakacoat kna. Lagi na tayo magkikita nian dto sa vip. Magpapalitan na tayo ng table,” said one of Loudette’s co-workers.

Merylle Guen Ala

Hours before her death, Merylle shared a photo of a bouquet and a shopping bag from Uniqlo with the caption “Thank you”. Merylle worked as a casino dealer at Resorts World.

“Merylle Guen Kismundo Ala is no longer with us, u are always remembered. Nag usap pa tau iti tripping pa kita diba. Mabait na pamangkin. Mapagmahal sa magulang. Dami mo pa pangarap. Dahil dami mo sinabi sa akin nuon, “Lhar Nazareno wrote.

Kay Noguera

Days prior to her death, Kay uploaded a cover photo on Facebook with the caption “The END”.

Mitch Servicio commented: “The caption ,kinilabutan ako kay! Napaka smiling face,totoong ngiti napaka friendly beshie last beso ko pala non last day ko. Bilis naman beb! Di kita makakalimutan beshie. Rest in Peace, praying for your soul.”

Eleuterio Reyes

Known as “Taroy” and “El Rey” to his family and friends, Eleuterio was with his wife Asenith when the attack happened at Resorts World Manila. He was a graduate of Ateneo de San Pablo.

“please enlighten me… pano nangyari n nkalusot ang iisang tao n may dalang ganon kalaking firearm s sinsabi nilang mahigpit n security?! why were they not able to control d situation?! receiving a call from my sister that my Tita Neneth and Tito Elrey were there when the incident happned made me worried and at the same time angry on how the people from the security handled the situation. thankful Tita Neneth is out of danger but also grieving because Tito Elrey is now gone. Tito Eleuterio Reyes thank you for d love and care you have given us especially k papa,” Rea Chyrine Briones Rabanal wrote.

Leah Grace Mozo

A mom to a young boy, Leah Grace also worked at Resorts World Manila.

“To all my friends and relatives Im in so much in pain for what had happened to RWM and to my wife Hael Ecarg. Still, I cannot believe why this happened :,(….Im am trying to be strong… thanks for all your message, support and prayers! My wife’s burial will be at St. Therese Church Shrine Pasay for five days and she will be travelled to her home town in Tacloban,” Dondon Mozner commented.

Ariel Abrogar

An employee of Fuji-Haya Electric, Ariel was a guest at Resorts World Manila. He obtained a degree in engineering from the University of Santo Tomas.

His son Carlo Manuel Abrogar posted: “Thank you for all your prayers and kind words which definitely helps us get through this difficult time. Please continue praying for our Papa Ariel and our family.For those who would like to pay their respects and offer their prayers, we are here at Paz Sucat inside Manila Memorial Park, Aguinaldo room at the ground floor.We love you Papa!! Carlo Manuel Abrogar”
