Placard-bearing senior is back to try to “save Grace”

You may remember the valiant senior citizen who bravely stood outside the DOJ (Department of Justice) holding up a placard on which were written words of support for DOJ Secretary Leila De Lima amidst a massive protest action held by members of the Iglesia ni Cristo.

That senior citizen is 67-year-old Construction Engineer Jose Kwe, and this time, he is doing another placard protest, with “Saving Grace” as his agenda. Last Saturday, Kwe stood in front of the Philippine Daily Inquirer offices bearing another placard with words of advice for presidential candidate, Senator Grace Poe.

On the placard, Kwe tells the senator that she is merely being used by another presidential candidate, Vice President Jejomar Binay, through her chosen running mate, Senator Chiz Escudero. He likens the collusion between Binay and Escudero to a strategy in chess called the Queen’s Gambit.

Gamit ka lang ni Chiz para maipanalo si Binay (Chiz is merely using you to make Binay win,)” Kwe states, “Bina(y)Boy pa rin si Chiz [Chiz is still a Bina(y)Boy.] Sa chess, yan ang Queen’s Gambit. Ipapain niya ang queen para maiangat siya sa pagka-king. (In chess, that is called the Queen’s Gambit. He’ll use the queen as bait so he can lift himself up as king.) He’s thinking 10 moves ahead.”

Kwe then implores the lady senator to “pray for discernment” and instead, “sacrivice” herself. He thinks at this point, Poe still has a chance for redemption and make herself a winner.

Grace, hwag kang magdamdam (Grace, try not to have any hard feelings) if I say don’t be a dumb-dumb. You can still be a winner, if you can sacrivice yourself. Pray for discernment. Don’t just blindly follow your tormentor.”

Other people seem to share the same opinion as Kwe. Facebook user Liza Cam elaborates on the conspiracy theory: “Very well said coz Chiz campaigned [for] Binay when he run for VP. Now mahahati ang boto ng bayan (Now the votes will be split.) Nag pauto si Grace kay Chiz, nakinig sya sa bulong ni Chiz (She is letting Chiz fool her, she is listening to whatever he is whispering in her ears.) Poe is bagito, wala pa ngang nagawa sa Senado, then heto tatakbo ng Pres dahil lang sa bulong at hidden agenda ni Chiz (Poe is a newbie, she hasn’t done anything yet as a senator, yet here she is running for president already because of Chiz’s machinations and hidden agenda.)

Another FB user, Estado Real, agrees: “That’s how politics is played in PH, a weak, inexperienced candidate is usually a pawn by influential manipulators behind. Some are obvious power & wealth grabbers playing poker-face to win voters sympathy. Key to win in this country’s election process,’dapat maka-masa’ ang drama (you have to appear to love the masses.) Candidates with discipline, statesmanship & political will will not win in this ‘yayadub’ culture because the voting mass likes popularity & ‘fantaseryes’.”

Some though, tend to disagree with Mr. Kwe. FB user Lanmor Eberj thinks the old man is just indulging in conjecture and opinion saying: “hahaha kuro-kuro, pala-palagay, haka-haka o opinyun.
