Diner finds cockroach leg in his meal

Netizen Say Mahu was enjoying his meal at the restaurant Hainanese Delights in Robinsons Place Metro East when he discovered his food had an extra ingredient: the leg of a cockroach.

Naturally, Mahu was disgusted and brought the issue up with the restaurant’s management.

At first, Mahu opted not to share the photo on social media, believing the incident may have just been a fluke and that the management would be able to straighten things out. However, a week had already gone by since he made his complaint and he still had not received a single reply from the management. This pushed him to spread the word on social media to warn fellow netizens on the possible sanitary issues the restaurant could have.

Ngayong araw may pasisikatin akong isang kainan… isang linggo na ang nakakaraan pero wala ni isang opisina nila ang pumapansin sa reklamo ko, [Today, I’m going to make this restaurant famous. A week has already passed but not a single person at their office has taken notice of my complaint.]” he said.

Hainanese Delights is a popular Singaporean restaurant so this comes a surprise to many.

The incident, should it be proven true, will be an apparent violation of Republic Act No. 10611, otherwise known as the Food Safety Act of 2013, which aims to strengthen the food safety regulatory system in the country by protecting the public from food-borne and water-borne illnesses and unsanitary, unwholesome, misbranded, or adulterated foods.

Hopefully, the restaurant will release a statement soon and settle things with Mahu.
