WATCH: Palit-Pera swindlers caught on CCTV

Netizen Daina Jimenez Vargas posted a video on Facebook last June 11, that warned netizens about a group of swindlers with a new modus operandi known as the Palit-Pera Gang.

Vargas narrated that two men went inside Win Hotel in Olongapo City and proceeded to the counter and book three rooms for a 12 hour-stay for a total of PHP3,000.

The receptionist handed over the registration form to be filled out by a man wearing green shirt, who in return gave her the PHP3,000. As the receptionist was processing their booking, the man can be seen going through his huge shoulder bag and holding something in place with his right hand.

After talking to his companion, the man changed his mind and told the receptionist that they will have dinner first instead so he asked to get his money back.

When the receptionist gave the money back, he used his left hand to take it and rapidly place it in his bag and then take money (PHP 300) that was in his right hand and pretend that this was the money the receptionist handed to him.

He then claimed the money given to him was Php 300 only so the unsuspecting receptionist exchanged the PHP300 for PHP3,000.

A clear photograph of the culprit was shared in the comments section of the post.
