According to the Telegraph, Princess Charlotte’s name was only revealed on May 4, 2015 at around 10:05 P.M. by the Kensington Palace.

Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana’s name was inspired from her great grandmother’s name, Queen Elizabeth II, her grandfather, Prince Charles and her late grandmother Princess Diana. Charlotte, which was a different version of her grandfather’s name, means feminine or petite. She also has a 2-year-old aunt who has almost the same name, Charlotte Diana, who is the daughter of Princess Diana’s brother, Earl Spencer.
