Man fakes bomb threat to delay Girlfriend’s Flight

A 33-year old man was arrested by the French Police after he called the regional airport of Bordeaux-Merignac in southwestern France to make a bomb threat.

On Thursday, the unidentified man phoned the airport and told them: “There is a bomb, there is a bomb.”

Immediately after receiving the call, the police sealed off the airport. After conducting extensive searches, they did not find any bomb at the location.

Fortunately, the investigators were able to track the call at a location 12 miles from the airport.

Investigators discovered that the man wanted to delay his girlfriend’s flight because she was stuck in the traffic on Bordeaux ring road so he made a fake bomb threat.

Set to appear in a court in Bordeaux, the man could face up to two years in jail and a $33,000 fine if proven guilty.
