7-year-old Kid with Brain Cancer gives Kidney to his Sick Mother

Netizens commended the ultimate act of sacrifice that a seven-year-old kid did in order to give his mother a chance to live.

At the age of five, Chen Xiaotian was found to have a malignant tumor in his brain. Meanwhile, his mother Zhou Lu developed a kidney disease months prior to his diagnosis.

It was a tough journey for the two as Chen needed round-the-clock care, while Zhou had to undergo dialysis treatment. Together, they battled their diseases for two years.

Doctors initially thought that Chen would bounce back from the disease and fully recover. However, Chen’s condition only got worse. Eventually, the doctors had to tell the boy that he wouldn’t live for long and that he won’t be able to reach adulthood.

Chen’s disease became so aggressive that he lost his vision and became bedridden towards the end of his life.

Chen Could Save His Mother’s Life

Realizing the possibility of Chen saving his mother’s life, the doctors spoke to the boy’s grandmother Lu Yuanxiu.

Speaking to Asiantown, Lu recounted what the doctors told her:

“They told me that my grandson would not survive, but his kidneys could help his mother and also save two other lives as well.

“I discussed it with Zhou and she refused point-blank, she absolutely didn’t want to hear any talk of that happening,” Lu added.

Chen overheard the two talking and begged his mother to allow him to save her.

Although it was hard for Zhou to accept, she granted her terminally ill son’s last wish.

Making a Big Difference

Immediately after the death of the youngster, his kidneys and liver were removed and donated to his mother and two other people.

A 21-year-old woman was the recipient of his second kidney, while his liver was given to a 27-year-old man.

Even if Chen only had a few years to live, he was able to leave a lasting mark on Earth by making a difference in other people’s lives.
