The Greatest Shootout Ever! This Goalkeeper Blocks 5 Penalties In A Row With His Face

Lev Yashin, Gordon Banks, Gianluigi Buffon, Manuel Neuer- these are some of the best goal keepers ever recorded in the football history.

But there’s one guy who single handedly stopped five penalties in a row—–with his face!

Meet Scott Sterling. He’s the hero in the penalty shootout from a hilarious sketch made by Studio C.

Two teams are fighting their way to become the champion in the 2014 Men’s College Cup.  With the score tied to 2-2, it’s up to Sterling to make sure the NC Tar Heels does not score a point so his team, the Yale Bulldogs, will take home the championship trophy.

The ‘miracle’ started with the first guy hitting the ball to the goalie’s right side. Sterling was quick to move to that direction and was able to save the first kick with his face.

The trainer immediately ran to check on the dazed goalkeeper. Sterling was able to get back on his feet and managed to walk back to his team while the crowd cheered for an outstanding save.

The next kick went to his right side. Sterling jumped his way to reach the ball where his face [again] managed to block the ball. The trainer dragged him back to their team after he fainted from the hard blow.

In the third penalty kick, the goalie slowly headed towards the net. Still dizzy, he laid himself down on the ground and bended his back from the kicker. As soon the other team hit the ball, Sterling looked in that direction and once again gave his team another score using his almost-bloodied face.

The greatest goalie was able to walk his way down the net again for the fourth time. Still nauseous from the previous knocks, he collapsed on the ground. Three of his teammates ran to him and sat him on a chair. You think this is a chance for the other team to score? Nope. Because the ball went straight to his face and bounced back to the field.

The painfully funny penalty kick ended with Sterling crawling on the ground away from his post. The guy kicks the ball at the open net. Fortunately, it hit the pole. Unfortunately for our goalkeeper, the ball bounced on his face.

With the crowds cheering, his teammates put him in the stretcher as they rejoiced in their miraculous victory.
