Cedric Lee’s message to Vhong Navarro after bailing out of jail: “It’s Showtime”

“It’s Showtime,” said Businessman Cedric Lee when asked what his message to Vhong Navarro in a report from GMA News primetime newscast “24 Oras.” With these only two words spoken out by the businessman, it seems like he’s provoking the actor.

After being in jail for 5 months, Lee was freed together with body builder  Simeon Raz yesterday after posting their Php 500,000 bail each and filing the necessary papers for their release. The bail was granted by Judge Esperanza-Cortez of Taguig Regional Trial Court for the serious illegal detention case filed by actor Vhong Navarro for the incident happened last January 22. Serious illegal detention is non-bailable offense. Their co-accused, Deniece Cornejo remained at the Camp Crame as of the posting. It was earlier reported that she and her family are worrying where to get the P500,000 for her bail.

Friends, family members and the media met Raz and Lee outside the Camp Bagong Diwa after they were released. They rode a private vehicle and took lunch in a restaurant in Makati City.

In April, Cornejo, Lee, and 5 others were charged with serious illegal detention and grave coercion. This stemmed from the case filed by Navarro, who alleged he was beaten up by Lee’s company after Cornejo accused him of rape in January.

A motion for reconsideration hastily filed by Vhong Navarro’s lawyer’s did not stop the release. The feeling of fear came back to TV host Vhong Navarro after he knew that Cedric Lee and Zimmer Raz were able to post for bail.
