Kapamilya star Jessy Mendiola recently mentioned the past plane incident with Enrique Gil that occurred back in 2015.
Three years ago, Jessy, Enrique, and other celebrities were en-route to London for an ASAP concert. It has been reported that a minor confrontation rose between Luis Manzano, the actress’ boyfriend, and a supposedly drunk Enrique, who was allegedly harassing the actress.
In an interview with PEP during the press conference of her movie with Jericho Rosales, The Girl in the Orange Dress, she stated that she never got a formal apology from the actor, but has forgiven him anyway.
“Nag-move on na ako. May mga bagay… ikaw din kasi ang mahihirapan, e, kapagka hindi mo ni-let go yung mga ganung bagay.
“And now, okay na ako, e. May mas malala pang bagay na nangyari sa akin. And halata naman siguro na happy ako ngayon and yung mga dating nangyari, hayaan na natin yun.”
The actress said that she felt disrespected that time but was not sure if the actor was really drunk or not.
“Hindi ko alam. Baka stressed lang siya.”
Mendiola continued on saying that she’s okay after the incident.
“Tapos, within those two years, I had to work on myself to heal. And now, I’m really proud to say na I’m really okay. I’m healed.”
The cast of ASAP recently flew to Australia and one of the stars who flew there was Robi Domingo, who released a vlog about the trip on November 15.
His YouTube video contains clips of what the performers were doing during their free time.
At one part of the vlog, Domingo talked to actor Daniel Padilla, who had lost his phone in the city.
Domingo asked Padilla what he felt when he lost the phone before saying, “It’s not about the phone for me.”
The actor immediately agreed and added that people can always buy a new phone but there were files and photos in his old device.
“Yeah, oo, it’s not about the phone. You can always buy a new phone. You know, it’s the files, it’s the pictures.”
Domingo pushed on and asked Padilla what else is important. The latter immediately answered that he cannot contact his girlfriend, who is also his on-screen partner Kathryn Bernardo.
“The problem is she’s gonna be very very mad at me.”
The actress did not join the group in Australia as she was busy filming the Cathy Garcia-Molina movie ‘Three Words to Forever‘ starring Sharon Cuneta and Richard Gomez.
Regine Velasquez‘s welcome presscon as a Kapamilya was held on Wednesday, October 17, and the singer can’t contain her excitement with all the possibilities in her new network.
She shared that she has signed for two years with ABS-CBN and said that she will join Sunday variety show ASAP as well as have a musical sitcom with her husband, Ogie Alcasid, and actor Ian Veneracion. She will also be one of the judges of the upcoming Idol Philippines.
The Asia’s Songbird also expressed her interest in making a special appearance in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano with Coco Martin. She then added that it’ll be an honor to be a part of the show as it’s one of the most popular series of this generation.
“Oo naman. Kasi ‘te, sino bang walang may alam ng Probinsyano?
“Kahit saan, Probinsyano talaga, e!”
She then shared an interesting incident when they went to the United States. “Noong nagpunta nga kami ng States, hindi nga nila alam yung show ko, e!
“Tapos noong binanggit ko yung Probinsyano, nagsigawan sila! Mga bastos din itong mga ‘to, e!”
Regine then added that she’s happy for Coco and the success of his long-running action series and compared his popularity to Lito Lapid‘s level during his time.
“Pero I’m so happy for Coco, even though he doesn’t know me personally.
“You can see how hardworking he is as a person, as an artist. And I know, I’ve been hearing things about him that they love working with him because he’s a good… he directs, tapos magaling siyang katrabaho so hahangaan mo talaga.”
“Alam mo ba, natutuwa ako na ginagawa ng Probinsyano, yung binabalik nila yung mga dating action stars, malaking bagay yun. Kasi yung mga millennials, nakikita nila like si Lito Lapid.
“E, noong araw, sikat na sikat yun. Superstar yun noong araw. Tapos parang siguro kasi dream niya rin to work with them, I don’t know. Talagang sinasama niya nakakatuwa.”
Kapamilya stars wasted no time in welcoming Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez when it was announced that she will be joining “ASAP: Live in Sydney” this month.
This was after weeks of rumors surrounding the singer’s network transfer. Regine posted the concert variety program’s poster on Saturday, a day after the reports came out.
“See you guys in Sydney #AsapinSydney”
Her friends didn’t fail to express their enthusiasm, one of whom is Megastar Sharon Cuneta, who is known to be really close with Regine.
My Songbird and I now live in the same HOME!!! Woohoo!!!!!!!!! Welcome, my Regine!!!!!!!!
Other ABS-CBN artists, like Kim Chiu, also commented on Regine’s post, expressing their excitement with her upcoming schedule.
Angeline Quinto‘s enthusiasm can be felt as she didn’t just comment once.

KZ Tandingan also commented on Regine’s Instagram post.

ASAP: Live in Sydney is set to happen on October 20 at the ICC Sydney Theatre.
Young professional Anna Dela Cruz told Pep.ph about the life lessons that she learned from her dad, Rene Dela Cruz, who is currently the floor director of ABS-CBN’s Sunday noontime show, ASAP.
Rene started his career with the Kapamilya network in 1986 in the shows Palibhasa Lalake, Dick and Carmi, and Abangan sa Susunod na Kabanata.
He is now celebrating his 30th year in the company.
Anna shared that she has a common denominator with her dad, which is being temperamental. She also stated the three most important philosophies that her dad lives by.
“Dad as a parent, as a friend, and as a professional share a common denominator—doing the right thing, no shortcuts, or you face his fury!
He passed down to me his temperament, so don’t you be wasting our time with nonsense!
Integrity, ambition, and humility are three of the most important philosophies Dad lives by and continues to impart with me.”
Work in the entertainment company is never easy. It includes irregular schedules and sleepless nights. But in spite all of the hardships, Rene still managed to be an effective single dad to Anna as he still possesses the strict parental quality that most Filipinos have.
“My dad was and still is a strict parent—which isn’t surprising and is very typical of a Filipino parent,” Anna recalls.
I remember when I was a little kid in grade school and refused to go to class on one particular day.
Dad went into my room and asked if I was ok. I told him I didn’t feel like [going to school].
He basically said that it was a lame excuse to miss out on education, but he relented and told me to rest and prepare for a new day so it won’t happen again.”
With that, Anna credits her self discipline to her dad, and basically everything she needed to know about life. She shared that her dad didn’t fail to teach her a lot of practical things such as car maintenance, house maintenance, career development, how to deal with people around you, as well as financial and resource frugality.
She also revealed that her dad never really babied or spoiled her when as a child. He always looked at her like she’s and adult no matter what age she was in.
Now that Anna is based in Texas, and is having the life of her own, she never forgets to apply the life lessons that he taught her.
“He’s still my voice of reason and, once in a while, he would remind me to slow down and think twice before dashing off with a decision, which is never a bad idea.
He reminds me always that life can be cruel, but I can always have a proactive attitude and make the best of it…
I’m blessed to have him as my dad, and he really makes me proud to be a Dela Cruz!
Love you so much, Dad!”
American musician, pianist, composer, and arranger Scott Bradlee of Postmodern Jukebox (PMJ) posted his displeasure at Zsa Zsa Padilla’s rip off of his musical arrangement of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space.” Bradlee shared Padilla’s video with the caption, “This week in ‘who’s ripping off my arrangements and passing their off as their own'” #PMJdiditfirst”.
Watch Zsa-Zsa’s performance below:
Padilla performed the number on the Sunday noontime variety show ASAP 20 as part of her birthday production number. Minutes after the video was uploaded on Padilla’s Facebook page, a number of Postmodern Jukebox fans from all over the world posted their dismay. Several fans also used the hashtag #PMJdiditfirst.
Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” was previously performed with the same musical arrangement ala vintage cabaret style by Postmodern Jukebox featuring Ariana Savalas last December 2014.
Here’s Ariana Savalas’ ‘Blank Space’ performance:
Postmodern Jukebox is most popular for their recreations of pop music into vintage and jazz style performances. Their short and simple description on their Facebook page, “We take pop music back in time.” says it all. Such pop-turned-vintage-type songs they’ve made include Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance,” Aqua’s “Barbie Girl,” and The Cardigans’ “Lovefool.”
Padilla’s recreation of PMJ’s number is only one of the very many showcased in the Sunday variety show. It is, however, uncommon that the performance gets traced back to the original artist. In this case, Bradlee spoke up (and quite immediately, in fact) about the issue. The big question now is what will Padilla and her home network ABS-CBN do about it.
Forget about “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.” The arrangement may be in violation of copyright laws. As per the Copyright Law of the United States, a set of exclusive rights is awarded to authors and artists to encourage the creation of art and culture. “Copyright law grants authors and artists the exclusive right to make and sell copies of their works, the right to create derivative works, and the right to perform or display their works publicly.” But as Bradlee had used the term “rip off,” it is clear that no one had asked permission to recreate his original arrangement at all.
