Judy Ann Santos, Liza Soberano, Vic Sotto, Willie Revillame, Michael V., Sarah Geronimo, Anne Curtis, and Maja Salvador were among the highest-paying celebrity taxpayers.

During her acceptance speech, Curtis encouraged Filipinos to pay their taxes promptly.

“I just wanna say that now I am a mother, I think it’s so important that we lead by example to the future generations and encourage others to think about the progression of our country as well for the future generations that have yet to come,” she said.

She added, “So, let’s all lead by example and support the BIR and let’s pay everything on time.”

Other celebrities who made the list are Mike Enriquez, Jessica Soho, Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo, Liza Soberano, Sarah Geronimo, Vic Sotto, Mel Tiangco, Michael V, and Willie Revillame.

Although they were not personally present, Sotto and Geronimo sent their message through a video that the BIR aired.

Revillame personally accepted his recognition, emphasizing the importance of fulfilling obligations to contribute to the development of the Philippines.

Under the “progressive taxation” system stipulated in the 1987 Constitution, wealthy Filipinos are taxed at a higher rate. The BIR reminded the public to file their tax returns by April 15th.
