Filipino K-pop fans express worries over safety, share stories of merchandise theft following ‘KMJS’ episode

One K-pop fan shared on social media their experience of being robbed of a photocard hanging from their bag while riding a bus.

K-pop enthusiasts are currently alarmed because of the recent episode of ‘Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho’ (KMJS) that aired last Sunday, March 5.

The number of theft incidents has increased after the publication of the merchandise collection of a teenage girl that amounted to P2 million.

The girl, introduced as Bea, is a K-pop fan with over 3,000 photocards and three limited edition items costing P50,000 each.

Just one day after the episode aired, ‘KMJS’ quickly became a trending topic along with the word “terrifying” due to the experiences shared by netizens.

One K-pop fan shared on social media their experience of being robbed of a photocard hanging from their bag while riding a bus.

“A middle aged man (probably around 40-50s) stole my jimin dicon photocard. Nagulat rin ako kaya hindi ako naka react agad. idk if this has something to do with yesterday’s kmjs episode, pero just a reminder lang to those who plan na magnakaw, hindi lahat ng photocards ay worth 50k,” they wrote.

“but this pc is very precious to me, malakas ang sparks nito sakin and it gives me joy kaya palagi ko tong dala. Literally crying right now because this is my favorite pc and I bought this with my hard-earned money,” they added.

Other K-pop fans also got robbed.

Other K-pop fans added that the creators of ‘KMJS’ should be responsible for the impact of their content on viewers.

Meanwhile, KMJS has released a statement on the matter.
