5. Tiyanak

A tiyanak is the soul of an unbaptized child and therefore destined to roam the earth forever. A tiyanak can also be the offspring of a demon and a woman. A tiyanak gets its prey by pretending to be a normal baby crying. When a human approaches it, it changes form and feeds on the human’s flesh.

Myths say the way to kill a tiyanak is to pierce its flesh with a sharp object, preferably a metal or silver dagger.
