4. White Lady
A White Lady is a female ghost reportedly seen in rural areas and associated with some local legend of tragedy, like a woman who was raped and murdered and haunts the spot where she died. Some stories also say a white lady is a woman who was left behind by a lover. They say these ghosts appear to travelers or passersby because they are trying to convey a message.
Almost every town has a story of a white lady. In the Philippines, the most popular white lady is the one they haunts Balete Drive in Quezon City. This story is so popular that it actually inspired a movie. Most stories revolve around taxi drivers who pick up a beautiful woman passenger on Balete only to see her later in the rearview mirror bloodied and bruised.
