LOOK: Final moments before death captured on film

Gerardo Alvarez was a 53-year-old evacuee from Yolanda-ravaged Tacloban. In this photo taken at the Brigadier General Benito Ebuen airbase in Cebu, he is seen strapped to a wheelchair and is seemingly crying out in pain. This was November 2013, Alvarez’s mother and sister were dead from the typhoon, and he is about to be flown to Manila to receive medical attention. Sadly, he died five days later.

Australian actor Heath Ledger is seen here while filming on the set of The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, a movie he was not able to complete as he died of an overdose later after the shot was taken. He died in January 2008.
