A scene in the pilot episode of GMA Network’s “Mano Po Legacy: The Flower Sisters” has gone viral on social media.
The scene between the characters played by Beauty Gonzalez and Rafael Rosell sounded familiar to netizens.
It begins with Rosell’s character asking Gonzalez’s character for P40 million in campaign donations.
“Hon, parang wala kang tiwala sa kakayahan kong tumakbo sa public office?” Rosell’s character asked Gonzalez’s character.
In a fiery response, Gonzalez’s character responded, saying she has no faith in her husband because he has no political experience, didn’t finish college, and all he knows is how to have fun.

Rosell’s character responded in defense, “Hon, lahat natutunan. Hindi mo kailangan ng diploma para maglingkod sa bayan. Ang kailangan mo lang ay sincerity, dignity at integrity,” to which Gonzalez’s character replied with a sharp giggle.
There was no mention of names in the dialogue, but it sounded like it reflected the opinions of a certain politician in the country.
Netizens caught on to this and suggested that they knew that the writers were throwing shade at Pres. Bongbong Marcos.

Somewhat the delivery made it more interesting, hindi cringy or awkward or pilit magpaka-woke.

Last election season, Marcos’ failure to obtain a college degree was a huge topic among voters. He maintained that he graduated from Oxford University which the institution has denied. Instead, he was awarded a special diploma which isn’t the same as a college diploma.
His experience as a public servant was also called into question. Marcos previously served as governor of Ilocos and as a senator, but his credentials were insufficient in comparison to his opponents.
